The restaurant industry celebrates military service by offering a number of promotions that include free meals, coupons and discounts, and buy-one-get-one-free specials. Additionally, restaurants such as Bob Evans offer all-you-can-eat promotions to visiting veterans.
Many hotels and resorts offer discounted accommodations, and hotel chains such as Red Roof Inn offer specials that take 15 percent off room rates for participating veterans, active service members and their families. Likewise, high-class lodgings such as the Westgate Resorts reward fast-acting veterans with a 25 percent discount when they fill out an online military appreciation form.
Similarly, tourist destinations such as zoos, parks and museums offer many specials and discounts for past and current service members. Busch Gardens discounts one-day admissions by 50 percent for veterans, and the 9/11 Museum in New York gives free admission to veterans participating in one of the tours through the memorial.
Companies such as Heinz and the NFL put together fundraising programs that generate monetary assistance for programs designed to aid veterans. In the same way, concert and exhibit events pay tribute to those who served in the military and increase public awareness of issues that are experienced by veterans.
