As the Los Angeles Superior Court explains, the Van Nuys courthouse is divided into two sections: the east and west courthouse. The east courthouse handles civil and family law cases, and felony matters, misdemeanors and traffic infractions are heard in the west courthouse. Shouse Law explains that those facing misdemeanor DUI arraignments should head to room 407, those facing other misdemeanor charges should go to room 307, and anyone facing a felony DUI arraignment must appear in room 305.

The east courthouse is located at 6230 Sylmar Ave., Van Nuys CA 91401, and the west courthouse is just around the corner at 14400 Erwin St. Mall, Van Nuys, CA 91401. The Los Angeles Superior Court directs visitors to parking for both courthouses located at 6170 Sylmar Ave., just east of Van Nuys Blvd. As of October 2014, parking is $9 per day, although it is free for jurors who show their juror badges. Both courthouses are open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
