The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Washington, D.C. offers consular and travel services, including document verification, travel agency planning for Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages, visa application services and services for Saudi nationals. The Saudi embassy offers 15 types of visas to U.S. travelers as of 2015.
The Saudi embassy in Washington, D.C. usually processes visa applications within a single day, charging $270 for the business visa and $108 for all types of visas. Examples of visas available to U.S. travelers include adding-newborn-to-Saudi-residence-cards, business visas, commercial visas and employment visas. The Saudi embassy also processes and grants diplomatic and official visas for members of the United States government, but this is distinguished from a separate visa type called the government visit visa.
Other types of visas granted by the Saudi embassy include family visit visas, personal visit visas, residence visas, student visas and work visit visas. Special visas exist for religious pilgrimages, such as the Hajj or Umrah; these visas also have strict, specific requirements. For example, the Saudi embassy does not release Hajj visas to individuals who have performed a Hajj pilgrimage at any time five years prior to their application. The embassy also requires Hajj pilgrims to operate through a licensed U.S. travel agency and provides pilgrims with assistance finding valid agencies for their trips.
