Users may search for an inmate by his New York State Identification Number or by the book and case number. If this information is unknown, users may also look up an inmate by first and last name and date of birth. Using the information provided will ensure the letter is directed to the appropriate facility.

Money should be sent to an inmate using the DOC cashier's office or a money transfer agent. Inmates are not allowed to receive cash. To transfer money to an inmate's account, a user will need the inmate's name, booking and case number. There is a few to use a money transfer agent.
