A recent scandal involving Scott Walker resulted from findings that he used public resources to conduct campaign-related business, used unethical financing methods and kept a clandestine email network. These activities happened while Walker was serving as county executive in Madison, Wisconsin.
An investigation revealed that some of Scott Walker's employees performed campaign work for him while they were being paid to work for the county. It also uncovered the fact that Walker and some of his staff kept private email accounts that were used to conduct more campaigning for the then-gubernatorial hopeful. Individuals have also admitted to using unethical tactics to elicit campaign contributions and to misusing public funds. Several of Walker's former staff members have been convicted of charges such as campaigning on public time and embezzling money. Walker has denied knowledge of any wrongdoing.
