ROTC stands for Reserve Officer Training Corps, which is a program that allows college students to prepare for life in the military as an officer, while earning a college degree at the same time. Candidates learn how to lead others and conduct missions as a military officer at ROTC.
ROTC is an elective curriculum that is taken with a students required college classes. ROTC offers military careers in fields such as transportation, law enforcement, chemistry, engineering, finance, aviation, and health care. The Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps all have their own individual ROTC programs. Students are able to experience college just like everyone else while being enrolled in ROTC.
