Full Answer

Consumers may register up to three telephone numbers on the registry and must provide working email addresses to validate their requests. It can take up to 31 days for consumers to notice a reduction in the number of unwanted calls they receive.

The Do Not Call Registry only prohibits sales calls, so consumers may still receive unwanted calls from bill collectors, charities, telephone surveys or other businesses previously given permission to contact them via phone.
