Programs for wounded veterans as of 2015 include the Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment, the Army and the Air Force Wounded Warrior programs, and the Navy Safe Harbor program. MilitaryOneSource also provides immediate assistance and consultation to wounded warriors and their families.
Each branch of the armed forces has its own enrollment requirements.
The Wounded Warrior program of the Department of Homeland Security offers but does not guarantee employment to veterans who have suffered severe wounds. The various armed forces wounded warrior programs provide health care, career planning, home and transportation accommodations, and financial and benefits assistance to injured or ill armed forces members and veterans. The programs also offer childcare information and personal and family counseling.
