As of 2015, the Attorney General of Ohio is Mike DeWine. DeWine, a Republican, was elected in 2010 and was sworn in to office on January 10, 2011.
Mike DeWine was born on January 5, 1947, in Yellow Springs, Ohio. As Attorney General, he has created a Crimes Against Children Unit to help law enforcement better deal with sexual predators. He has also invested $75 million to help demolish abandoned properties in Ohio. On his first day as Attorney General, DeWine joined a lawsuit disputing the constitutionality of ObamaCare. He is also devoted to fighting heroin abuse and prescription drug addiction in Ohio.
