What Is the Pell Grant Eligibility Chart?

The federal Pell Grant eligibility chart simply refers to the list of requirements necessary of an applicant to be eligible to receive federal grant money. The federal Pell Grant program is a need-based grant designed to assist low-income students pursuing an undergraduate degree at a qualified education institution.

Financial need is determined by the expected family contribution, which takes into consideration the student's income, parent's income, size of family and number of family members pursuing post-secondary education. Other eligibility requirements include citizenship, pursuit of undergraduate degree at a qualifying institution and having earned a high school diploma or GED. Those who meet these requirements and have not received a Pell Grant for more than 12 semesters are eligible to receive this grant.
