If either the case number or citation number is known, click the Advanced Search link on the Iowa Courts Online - Payment Search Web page, indicates the Iowa Courts. Select the county from the dropdown menu. Enter the case number or citation number into the appropriate box. Type the reCaptcha text into the appropriate box, and click Search for Matching Cases. Locate the correct case, and follow the prompts to pay the fine.

If the case or citation number is unknown, click the Basic Search link on the Web page. Select a case type from the dropdown menu in step one, advises the Iowa Courts. Options include traffic ticket, simple/criminal and civil infractions. Select the county from the dropdown menu in step two. Enter the last four to six digits of the case number or the name in step three. Type the reCaptcha text into the appropriate box, and click Search for Matching Cases. Locate the correct case, and follow the prompts to pay the fine.

Some court clerk offices may accept payment in person or by telephone. Click the Offices and Directories link under the General Information heading on home page to locate the address and telephone number of a local office, notes the website.
