Microsoft's website warns computer users to be wary of any phone calls they receive from Omnitech Support representatives claiming they are calling on behalf of Microsoft. Omnitech has been accused of installing malicious tracking software, which could record a user's credit card information.
While Omnitech Support is accredited but not rated by the Better Business Bureau, the BBB has received almost 200 complaints about the company between 2012 and 2015, according to the agency. Microsoft itself received more than 65,000 complaints about fraudulent tech support calls between May and December 2014, Microsoft states.Learn more about Crime
