As of 2015, there is only one women's reformatory in the state of Ohio: the Ohio Reformatory for Women. Located in Marysville, just northwest of Columbus, the facility has been in operation since 1916.
The Ohio Reformatory for Women houses around 2,500 inmates, most of whom are considered minimum security. The facility has around 500 staff members, slightly over half of which are guards.
A special program unique to the Ohio Reformatory for Women include The Short Term Offender Unit, which provides support to inmates with short sentences on their transition back into society. Another is the Therapeutic Community, which helps establish a social and familiar setting for drug and alcohol abusers to seek support and abstinence.
