Thirteen people were killed during the Columbine shooting. Of those killed, 12 victims were students and one was a teacher. In addition, 23 people were injured to varying degrees.
The Columbine shooters were Dylan Klebold, age 17, and Eric Harris, age 18. The mass shooting occurred on April 20, 1999, in Littleton, Colo., when the two teens stormed Columbine High School with guns after failing to detonate propane bombs in the cafeteria. After their shooting spree, Klebold and Harris committed suicide by turning their guns on themselves in the library shortly after 12 noon, before SWAT police could reach them.
