Chris Kyle served as a Navy SEAL from his enlistment in 1999 until his retirement from service in 2009. While a member of the SEALs, Kyle served four tours of duty in Iraq.
Kyle was reportedly one of the best snipers in U.S. Military history with over 160 kills. Kyle wrote an autobiography entitled "American Sniper" that became a best seller and sold hundreds of thousands of copies. In 2013, Kyle died after being shot and killed by Eddie Ray Routh at a gun range outside of Fort Worth, Texas. Following his death, Clint Eastwood turned Kyle's autobiography into an Academy Award-nominated movie.
