She also provides names of campaign ribbons or medals that the veteran received. Other information on the veteran include the foreign service start and end date and the foreign service locations.
On the final section of the application form, the prospective member chooses whether to pay the annual fee or the life membership fee based on her age. The life membership fee varies between $50 and $220 as of 2015. She then provides her payment details and attaches her proof of eligibility before submitting her application.
Organizers founded the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in 1914 for women to support veterans, and it grew to become one of the nation's largest military service and support organizations. In late 2015, the organization opened its membership to men for the first time and changed its name to Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
