The Employment and Training Administration offers free training programs that teach in-demand job skills and offer job placement services to those over 18 years of age. Many of these programs are administered through local One-Stop Career Centers.
Three thousand One-Stop Career Centers exist across the United States. One-Stop Career Centers, which are available in all 50 states, were created by stimulus funding for the purpose of offering free classes that teach computer education and basic academic skills. The U.S. Department of Labor's Trade Adjustment Assistance program pays workers who lose their jobs to overseas competitors to train for new positions.
