The California Highway Patrol (CHP) was awarded the honor of best dressed in 2013 from the National Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors. An independent panel was used to make this determination. The CHP received the official designation because of its attractive tan uniforms with blue and gold trouser stripes. Motor officers wear bow ties.
The Washington State Patrol troopers were named the best dressed agency in 2007 by the North American Association of Uniform Manufacturers & Distributors. Some, not all, of the troopers sport uniforms with formal bow ties. Their uniforms include pants that have a dark blue stripe down the side, and the entire uniform is topped off with a dark blue felt cap.
