As of 2015, Condoleeza Rice is not, and has never been, married, and she has no children. She was briefly engaged to Football player Rick Upchurch in the 1970s.
The former National Security Advisor and U.S. Secretary of State says she didn't plan to remain single, but finding the right person just didn't happen for her. Her life has been extremely busy and fulfilling nonetheless. Rice is the first woman and first African American to be named provost at Stanford University, one of the first two women members of the elite Augusta Nationals Golf Club, one of 13 members of the College Football Playoff selection committee, and an accomplished pianist.
