Brown killed her stepmother when she was just 14 years old. Brown did not admit that her father encouraged her to kill her until years later. After Brown shot her stepmother, her father made her take drugs with the intent that she die of what appeared to be a suicide. Brown lived because she vomited.
Brown stated after her release from youth detention that she intended to begin a clerical job. Her story became the subject of two books and a television series. Brown spent her time in jail working, exercising and doing crafts.
