Individuals can check students' grades online when specifically authorized by a school system or school district. In recent years, more school systems have been allowing students and parents to not only check a student’s grades online, but also attendance, behavior or disciplinary record history.
Before accessing a student’s grades and other school activity online, the school system issues you online credentials. Many online school grade access systems have separate portals for parents and students.
For example, in order to access a student’s grades and other information for Grand Blanc, Michigan Community Schools, you start by going to the school system website and clicking on Parents/Community, as of 2015. A drop-down menu then appears, where you can click Check Student Grades. Next you enter your username and password, if your online account has already been activated. If it has not been activated, you must click on the activation link to create your account.
Grades and other information are accessed in a similar way at the Okaloosa County, Florida, School District. Go the Grades Online page and click on Parent Portal. You must then enter the student number and PIN number you have been assigned for online access. If you do not have this information, you can obtain it by completing a MIS 4339 form and returning it to the school district. The information on the Okaloosa County School District Portal is only available from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., as of 2015.
