To check your food stamp balance online, visit the online Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program website for your state, create an account, or log in if you already have an existing account. Provide the required login credentials, and then click Submit. The login procedure varies depending on the website.
Alternatively, to find out if your state offers online Electronic Benefit Transfer services, go to USDA.gov, scroll to the bottom of the home page, and click on the Food Nutrition and Consumer Services link. On the new window, click Food and Nutrition Service. Type “EBT” into the search box located near the top right corner of the home page, and then click Online EBT SNAP Accounts from the search results.
The new page contains a list of states that offer online EBT SNAP services and their web addresses, as of 2015. Click on the Internet address for your state to access the ETB SNAP account login page.
Some SNAP websites ask for your Social Security or card number as the login credentials. On the main page of your online EBT SNAP account, click on the Account Summary link, and then select View Balance or a similar phrase to view the balance. Click on the Account Activity link to view a comprehensive breakdown of your transaction history.
Once a recipient has received his EBT card for food stamps, he can create a login and access his food stamp account information to check his balance as well as see where he has shopped throughout the month. A word of advice: some of these interfaces do not work well with "saved" information or copied/pasted numbers, so it is best if users type in the full account number each time they access the portal.
