The Veterans Administration lists healthcare providers on its website. Healthcare providers serve about 8.8 million veterans in more than 1,700 facilities nationally within the VA's 23 regional districts.
Providers are available in many fields of practice. Available services include dentistry, dermatology, radiology, mental health, neurology, optometry, primary care, physical rehabilitation and surgery. The VA also provides an online pharmacy for its patients.
Health care is not the only benefit offered by the VA. Among the other benefits are life insurance, home loans, education, and training programs and vocational rehabilitation.
Veterans also are eligible to be buried in 131 national cemeteries and to receive headstones for the burial plot.
