The police departments of most cities, such as Burbank Police in California and Springfield Police in Massachusetts, provide daily arrest logs. The Burbank Police Department lists arrests made in the city over a 30-day period, while the Springfield Police Department offers 60-day and three-day arrest logs. The daily arrest log usually includes the arrested person's full name, booking number, and the time, date and location of the arrest. Logs may also include mug shots of those arrested, and some logs list the arrestee's previous and current charges. The logs provided by Burbank Police and Springfield Police both require Adobe Acrobat Reader to view.

The websites of some newspapers, such as Syracuse.com in Central New York and TheDay.com in New London, Connecticut, publish arrests made by local and state police departments. The arrest information comes from either the local police blotter or from the sheriff's department. The sheriff's department sometimes posts arrests made within a county and releases mug shots of arrested individuals.
