Consumers can purchase food and grocery items with the Georgia COMPASS account, as this account is part of the state's food stamp program. Examples of products that can be purchased with the Georgia COMPASS card include produce, dairy products, meats, breads, cereals, juices and snack foods.
The Georgia COMPASS program follows the federal purchase guidelines for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Consumers cannot purchase hot foods such as prepared meals, beer, liquor or wine with their COMPASS account. Vitamins and household products are also not eligible for the program.
Georgia residents can apply for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program online through the GA COMPASS website.
