The Government Printing Office offers the authenticated text of the Constitution as a printable PDF file. The National Archives scanned the physical copy of the Constitution and made high resolution images available that are suitable for printing.
The files from the Government Printing Office are derived from the approved literal print text used by the government in all official matters referring to the Constitution. The GPO has also made available an annotated version of the Constitution that analyzes and interprets each clause, referring to Supreme Court decisions that have clarified the meaning over time. The literal text is a better choice for printing as the annotated text is 2800 pages long.
