To use Das Telefonbuch, you must first enter the name of the person or business you are trying to contact into the first box, which is labeled Wer, or Was. You can then enter the name of a place, such as a city or province, into the second box, which is labeled Wo. You must enter the German name for the place you want to search in. There is an auto correct feature which should help you if you are unsure of how to properly spell the name of the place you are searching for.
Now, click the search button, which is labeled Finden. You can also reverse search using the rückwärts-suche feature. If you scroll down the page, you will find that common searches are displayed under certain categories. If you see the name and place you are searching for, you may want to simply use those pre-chosen searches as a more convenient way to find what you are looking for. When you have submitted your search, close matches will display on the next page. You may want to use translation software to read the options more thoroughly.Learn more about Public Records
