Search results are listed in order of the inmate’s booking number, last name, first name, sex and race, among other information. Click on the booking number for the inmate’s arrest information, bail amount and county jail housing location. Other information provided includes the inmate’s court information, release date and specific case information. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department updates the jail information throughout the day, but bookings within the last two hours may not be reflected in the online database.

The search results also include past inmates lodged in the Los Angeles County Jail. The website also requires several CAPTCHA verifications when navigating between inmate information Web pages.

The Inmate Information Center also has information about inmate visiting guidelines, how to deposit money for an inmate, frequently asked questions and inmate information for other jails and prisons in California. Clicking on the California jails and prisons inmate information button provides links to California county jails, California state prisons and the Federal Bureau of Prisons to access an inmate's information at those facilities.
