To find a local welfare services office, go to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's SNAP Application local office finder page, and click on the appropriate state. This directs you to another website that links to addresses of local welfare offices, and it also links to a hotline to call for information regarding local welfare office locations.
In addition to the U.S. Department of Agriculture site, state websites offer search services to find local welfare offices. States administer welfare programs through its Department of Human Services, Department of Social Services or Department of Health and Human Services, so each state's human or social services website offers information about where to find local welfare offices.
For example, the State of California's Department of Social Services provides phone numbers for each county that give information on the locations of local welfare offices. To find the appropriate welfare office call the phone number for the right county, and ask for locations. California also lists each county's social services websites. Click on the link to the appropriate county, and then click on the button that says Locations.
Similarly, when looking for welfare offices in Texas, go to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission website. Under the tab that says Find Services, click on the button that says Services in Your Area. That button links to a website that allows you to search for local offices by ZIP code.
