Clinton is a woman of many talents in the political arena. She served as the First Lady from 1993 to 2001 alongside her husband, President Bill Clinton. She was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2001 and became the first American First Lady to hold a national office title. She served as a U.S. Senator from 2001 to 2009. In 2007, she announced her plan to run in the Democratic primary in order to win the presidency, but later conceded to Barack Obama. Obama then became the president and hired Mrs. Clinton to be his Secretary of State. She became the 67th U.S. Secretary of State in 2009 where she served until 2013.
Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton was born on October 26, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Wellesley College, Yale Law School and the Yale Child Study Center. She was the oldest daughter of a fabric store owner and a homemaker, and grew up in a Chicago suburb with two younger brothers.
