Galveston County Jail inmates are incarcerated in Galveston, Texas, in the custody of the Corrections Bureau of the Galveston County Sheriff's Office. The staff of 275 are responsible for the more than 1,000 inmates incarcerated in the facility. Inmates are imprisoned until they are able to post bail, serve their time, pay their fines, are ordered to be released or are transferred to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
