A food stamp calculator is available on the federal Food and Nutrition Service website. This official government food stamps calculator compiles and assesses information according to a user's state of residence.
To use the calculator, users select their states of residence from the drop-down list then click next. The next two pages provide spots to enter data about the residents, such as first names, age and citizenship data. This is followed with questions about assets and income on pages five through seven. Pages eight through 11 cover an applicant's living expenses, such as rent, utilities and child support payments. After entering the answers to the questions, page 12 provides an estimate of food stamp benefits available and information on where to file for this type of assistance, as well as other programs available.
