Can You Fish at Downey Wilderness Park?

Fishing is permitted in both lakes at Downey Wilderness Park, according to the Downey, Calif., website. The park is located on Florence Avenue, near the intersection of the 605 and 5 Freeways.

Besides its two lakes, Downey Wilderness Park features a playground, picnic facilities, restrooms and paths for walking, running and biking. On Saturdays, Sundays and certain holidays, the city charges parking fees for nonresidents. Downey residents who demonstrate proof of residence do not have to pay these fees. City residents are also eligible to reserve picnic facilities on Saturdays and Sundays, as long as the application is filed in person at the Parks and Recreation Department at least two weeks in advance, according to the city's website.
