While each state has a unique process in regards to applying for and receiving government assistance, Benefits.gov helps those who need aid find programs and application processes in their states. For example, Benefits.gov leads to the USDA's SNAP website that lists individual application processes for each state.
Benefits.gov also helps people who need assistance in the form of grants for education, housing, health care or job training. For people who need assistance following natural or man-made disasters, DisasterAssistance.gov allows users to type in their addresses to see if their areas qualify for help. This website also features a map that highlights individual states experiencing disasters within the last 12 months that qualify for individual assistance.
