Information on inmates at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice can be accessed by visiting tdcj.state.tx.us and using the Offender Search tool on the site's home page. To search, click "Offender Search" under Quick Links and enter the information requested, such as the inmate's last name and initial of the first name, a state ID number or the TDCJ booking number. The Inmate Information Details provides the inmate's full name, gender, race, maximum sentence date and current facility.
The TDCJ website also presents the projected released date of the inmate as well as the parole eligibility date, which is the earliest eligibility date for the offender's parole. An expired EED usually means that the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles has denied the parole review requested by the offender. Click Parole Review Information to check the status of the parole review.
Aside from the inmate information details, the TDCJ also provides helpful information for families of the incarcerated individual. Click Info for Families on the top right section of the home page to access information about the visitation policies, the inmate telephone system and ways to purchase commissary items for eligible offenders. The Info for Victims option provides information for victims about the notification system of an offender's incarceration, release date and parole process.
