CalFresh is the state of California's version of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or Food Stamp Program. The program gives those who qualify a monthly stipend they use in order to purchase most foods.
CalFresh, like many other food stamp programs, has a goal of getting people to put healthy and nutritious food on their tables. In order to qualify for the program, people who live inside the state of California must meet a number of different thresholds. The most prominent requirements that need to be met in order to receive CalFresh benefits have to do with household income, though there are other requirements such as citizenship and work rules.
