The Metropolitan Baltimore Quadel, or MBQ, is a program that provides counseling and supporting services for individuals who qualify for Section 8 vouchers and housing. The main purpose of MBQ is to assist families qualifying for Section 8 housing to gain access to Baltimore communities with low crime rates and good school performances.
The Baltimore MBQ is an innovative program that has assisted approximately 3,200 families with housing counsel, as of 2015. The program offers free advice regarding the benefits of moving to neighborhoods outside the city where families can repair their credit problems. Moreover, the MBQ recruits landlords willing to take part in the program and offers post-placement counseling.
