As of July 20, 2015, the Kansas City Board of Election Commissioners' website has not yet posted a sample election ballot, but it announces it plans to do so at a later date. As of the same date, the Jackson County Election Board has a notice for a special election concerning the city of Greenwood, Missouri, on Aug. 4, 2015.

Assuming, on the other hand, that the county in question is Jackson County, Florida, then sample ballot information is available from the website of the Jackson County Supervisor of Elections. In order to view sample ballots, in addition to upcoming election information and voting locations, a Florida resident needs to enter a last name, date of birth and house number of the voter's primary place of residence. Florida residents without voter registration must first get registered in order to view the website's election information.

Another option for finding candidates on the ballot is to research and visit the individual campaign websites of the candidates themselves. For example, as of 2015, Corey Falls is a candidate for sheriff of Jackson County (this time, a county of the state of Oregon). While individual candidate websites do not guarantee a position on the ballot (as other factors are also considered), they at least present possible names that one may encounter at the voting booth.
