The toll for crossing the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in 2014 varied depending on the type of vehicle and method of payment used. When paying cash, the charge for a car was $15 throughout 2014. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority had a full list of fees available on its website.
The toll for a truck to cross the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge was more expensive than that for a car, said the MTA, and the charge was greater the more axles the truck possessed. Truckers paying cash had to fork over a minimum of $30. On the other hand, motorcyclists paid only $6 cash, less than drivers of passenger cars. The operators of motorcycles, cars and trucks received lower rates if they paid via EZPass, and car drivers who resided in Staten Island had ways of paying even less. The rate schedule that was operative through 2014 was put into effect on March 3, 2013.
