Yemen is located in the southwest region of Asia and is considered a part of the Middle East. The country's geographic coordinates are 15 degrees north latitude and 48 degrees east longitude.
Yemen borders Saudi Arabia to the north and Oman to the east. To the west, Yemen's coastline runs along the Red Sea, with Africa located just on the other side. Yemen's southern coasts line the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea. Yemen mostly experiences a desert climate, with the hottest and driest area being in the east. Regions around the western coastline experience a more temperate climate.
