Full Answer

Lake Cachuma is an artificial lake and reservoir located outside of Santa Barbara, California. The lake is in a shortage state as of the summer of 2015. These low water levels are reminiscent of the drought experienced in the late 1980s to 1990s when the water level dropped rapidly from 1987 to 1991. The surface elevation of the lake is 778 feet when at capacity.
