A top vacation choice for visitors who want to swim with dolphins is Discovery Cove in Orlando, Florida. Other choices for families seeking an experience further away include Atlantis, a popular Bahamas resort.
According to UsaToday's travel tips website, Discovery Cove admission includes two full weeks of admission to one of Discovery Cove's associated theme parks. Guests have their pick of SeaWorld, Busch Gardens and Aquatica, a water park that opened in 2008. Guests can also upgrade their passes to include all three parks. The admission to Discovery Cove also includes all necessary swimming equipment, including wet suits, goggles, masks, snorkels and flippers. Food, drinks, parking and sunscreen, handed to guests as they enter the park, are also included.
The Atlantis Resort, located in the Bahamas, won the TripAdvisor Traveler's Choice award for the quality of its aquariums. All dolphin swims come with free all day admission to the Dolphin Cay’s private beach, as well as a personal photographer, swimming equipment, lockers and non-alcoholic drinks. "Trainer for a day" and snorkeling activities also provide all necessary equipment, as well as free lunches and t-shirts.
Families going to either park should be mindful of any and all age restrictions on swimming activities, and they should be prepared to swim with young children, as many activities at both parks require a parent to be present with minor guests.
