The usual date of the Rose Bowl Parade, or Tournament of Roses, is on January 1. If New Year’s Day falls on a Sunday, the parade is held on Monday, January 2.
The Rose Parade is a festival of flowers, music and sports that began on January 1, 1890, and is held each year in Pasadena, California. It was originally just a parade, but organizers added a college football game in 1902, called The Rose Bowl, in an effort to help finance the cost of running the parade. As of 2015, the parade has grown to include 41 floats and required more than 80,000 hours of preparation to complete its 126th edition.
