A United boarding pass is a document that allows a customer who has purchased a ticket on a United Airlines flight to board the plane. It may be in printed or used in electronic form. The airline normally issues them once a customer has checked in for a flight.
When a customer purchases a ticket online or through a travel agent, the airline issues an electronic ticket. The customer receives an email with a confirmation number and an itinerary. The customer must log on to his or her account on the airline’s website within 24 hours of the flight’s departure time on his or her own computer, at electronic kiosks in the terminal or at the airline’s check-in desk. The airline issues a paper boarding pass that the customer shows to security to get to the departure gate and to the attendant at the gate for boarding. United also offers mobile tickets and boarding passes that they send to a customer’s mobile device.
