What Types of Events Occur on the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds?

As of 2015, some of the events that occur on the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds include the Summer 4-Wheel Jamboree in July, the Bloomsburg Nationals in August, and the Bloomsburg Fair in late September through early October. The Summer 4-Wheel Jamboree is a combination of races and beauty contests for any type of four-wheel drive vehicle. Monster trucks challenge mud tracks, while other trucks run standard track races for time. Vendors are on site to sell food, drinks and truck-related souvenirs.

The Bloomsburg Nationals, presented by Carlisle Events, is an auto show that features classic cars, motorcycles and even some well-known Hollywood vehicles, such as the General Lee Dodge Charger from "The Dukes of Hazzard," which won the show's Kids' Choice Award in 2015. The event also includes a swap meet, a demolition derby, vintage car parades and live bands.

The Bloomsburg Fair first opened as a street carnival in 1855 and featured mostly agricultural events as well as a small midway. The 2015 fair included both of these staples, as well as a demo derby, horse racing, helicopter and carriage rides, and a number of school exhibits. An antique farm museum and agricultural, horticultural, and arts and crafts buildings are also located on the fairgrounds.
