Eastern Air Lines Group currently operates a fleet that consists of one Boeing 737-700 and two Boeing 737-800 jets that each hold 162 passengers. The airline has a pending order for 10 more Boeing 737-800 planes, as of December 2015.
The configuration plans of the Boeing 737-800 jets call for 12 seats devoted to business-class seating and 150 seats for economy-class passengers. The airline expects to take delivery of these planes by the end of 2017. Eastern Air Lines Group also has a pending order of 20 Mitsubishi MRJ90 passenger planes, each with a capacity of 90 passengers, and an option to order 20 more.
Eastern Air Lines Group is a charter airline service based in Miami that operates flights to destinations in the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America. The airline expects to begin regular scheduled passenger service in 2016. Eastern Air Lines Group is not related to the Eastern Air Lines that operated between 1928 and 1991, although its owners purchased the intellectual property rights of the defunct airline and hope to revive its name.
