TSA Pre-check is a security screening program offered by the Transportation Security Administration. It is used for low-risk passengers and enables them to receive expedited screening in advance of air travel.
TSA Pre-check is offered at over 150 airports in conjunction with 12 airlines, including Air Canada, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines and United Airlines. Qualifying travelers are given a known traveler number for use when making flight reservations. A special indicator appears on the boarding pass, and when participants arrive at the airport, they use lanes designated for expedited screening. The program offers the advantage of a more predictable and convenient flying experience that does not require participants to remove shoes, laptops, certain liquids, belts and light jackets.
