Full Answer

Most airlines allow passengers two carry-on bags. The two carry-on bags include one handbag or laptop bag and one additional bag. Weight restrictions for carry-on luggage are rare, but many airlines have size restrictions. Southwest Airlines limits carry-on bags dimensions to 24 inches long, 16 inches wide and 10 inches tall. Delta carry-on luggage cannot be larger than 22 inches long, 14 inches wide and 9 inches tall. Carry-on baggage needs to fit in overhead compartments or underneath a seat.
