Trinidad is located in the Caribbean, surrounded by the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Trinidad is an island popular to tourists and is found northeast of Venezuela.
Trinidad is mostly flat with a few hills and small mountains. The island sees only two seasons a year, rainy and dry. It is primarily supported by its tourist industry, but it also has rich natural resources of asphalt, natural gas and petroleum. In fact, Trinidad's Pitch Lake is the largest known natural reservoir of asphalt in the world. Trinidad and Tobago, the smaller island to the northeast of Trinidad, together make up the island nation aptly called Trinidad and Tobago.
