The Trenton-Mercer Airport is not a private airport, but rather a county-owned public airport. It is located 4 miles northwest of Trenton, New Jersey in Mercer County. Frontier Airlines is the only commercial airline that serves the airport, as of 2015.
The Trenton-Mercer Airport opened in 1929 and is the fourth busiest airport in New Jersey. The airport serves over 300,000 patrons each year and has one terminal and three gates. The ground floor consists of a waiting area, restrooms and car rentals. The top floor has an observation deck and the Sky Lounge restaurant and bar.
On Jan. 15, 2015, Mercer County announced that the airport would construct a second terminal, despite some protests from neighboring counties.
